The weather report forecast that there was 50% chance of rain in Morgan Hill. It started raining before I even left the garage. On the way to the location, I stopped twice to check the weather, and I hesitated wondering if I should turn around and go home. But my instant feeling told me it would be fine. The road was dry after South San Jose. I was very happy when I saw it was not raining after arrived. And thought I should try painting inside my tiny 2-seater smart car since I had not bought a plein air umbrella yet. I had sketched inside the car a couple of times before. After rearranging a little bit, It did work for me painting oils inside, only I had to twist my body, not good for longer hours of work. I didn't even notice it was raining outside.
Xueling Zou, is an award-winning, Chinese American self-taught artist living in California, from an artist family in Beijing. Passion for art, painting by heart from studio to outdoors, she creates visual stories in oil and watercolor using composition, color, and form inspired by different cultures, literature and nature.
