Description
This is one of my favorite masterful watercolor pieces from a class demonstration by my former art instructor Tom Sparacino. At the end of semester, we drew his works. I was lucky to win a couple of his works. And I post it here in memory of and respect for him, not only a wonderful art instructor ( He was one of best instructors in Silicon Valley. He taught photography, watercolors and oil paintings about 35 years), and also he was a great person. I was so lucky to find his class after I decided to paint 10 years ago. So many of my paintings were created under his instruction. I was extremely shocked and sad that he past away yesterday at age only 67.
Maybe I should just stick to paint today, but there were so many beautiful memories came back to me with A LOT of tears... I remembered how patient and encouraging he was. Whenever we were stuck, he was already there... I was off and on to his classes about 6 years. One of my most popular painting on FAA "Boats in front of buildings I", I remembered he made part of the canvas as our class demonstration... How couldn't I have told him yet about it, there are so many people love this piece, maybe because his art spirit got into the work. How I would know he could leave us so soon. I am sure I am not the only person love him so much in our area. I didn't see him often for a couple years, but his free spirit seems always there, hope forever!

Thanks Xueling for your comment of my artwork. I just signed up for FAA yesterday, the site seems too good to believe. I love YOUR brushwork in this piece. Sorry about your art instructor. I have taught art for the past 12 years in Atlanta, and so I am impressed that he left such a legacy with you and others. I do not know of him, so will google for more. Thanks again, Jilly Willy

What a poignant and triumphant tribute to your outstanding and beloved art instructor. I send my deep sympathy, and I can definitely relate -- my father, who was my own art intructor, also passed away at the early age of 67. Far, far too young, and it hurts to not be prepared and to think of all the gratitude and thanks I wished I'd realized needed to be shared with him. My condolences, and thank you for posting this vibrant and beautiful work.
